Last week, a 59 year-old man came into our clinic with a torn rotator cuff, surgically repaired, that occurred from a severe auto accident. Air bags deployed, injuring his shoulder. The car was totaled.
Recent public service announcements are asking drivers to keep your hands at the 4 and 8 o'clock positions. Had this man practiced this habit, I may have never had the pleasure of meeting him; he may have never been injured.
Although I am happy to help folks when need arises, in this case, we may find the public service announcements save drivers from major injuries.
Consider placing your hands at the 8 and 4 positions instead of the 10 and 2.
